Ralitsa Georgieva-Smith, Collaborative Piano at the Cleveland Institute of Music since 2007. Received her B.M and M.M. in Piano performance from the State Conservatory of Music- Sofia, Bulgaria, a second M.M. in Piano performance from University of South Florida where she studied with Dr. Svetozar Ivanov, and P.S. in Collaborative piano from the Cleveland Institute of Music under Anita Pontremoli.
Some of her professional engagements as a collaborative pianist include Chautauqua Institute, Interlochen Center of the Arts, University of South Florida Steinway Piano Series, Cleveland Trombone Seminar, Oberlin Conservatory Of Music Trumpet Institute, Preparatory and Continuing Education Program at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival in Burlington, Vermont, “Peter the Great” Festival in the Netherlands, Chamber Music from the Twentieth Century Festival in Perugia, Italy, “Koncerteum” Greece, Contemporary Piano Music festival “Pianissimo” in Sofia, Bulgaria, and Artist- in- residence as a member of the University of South Florida piano trio.
Radio recordings and live broadcasts were presented with her performances of the piano repertoire from classical to twentieth century music by Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Debussy, and Villa-Lobos for the Bulgarian National Television and radio. She has performed as a soloist with the Sliven Symphony Orchestra, the Bourgas Philharmonic and the Bulgarian National Chamber Orchestra in Bulgaria.
Some of her professional collaborators include Steve Witser (former Assistant Principal Trombone, Cleveland Orchestra/former Principal of L.A. Philharmonic) Massimo La Rosa (Cleveland Orchestra, Principal Trombone), Scott Dixon (Cleveland Orchestra, Double Bass), Charles Carleton (Cleveland Orchestra, Double Bass), Derek Zadinsky (Cleveland Orchestra, Double Bass), Matthew Vaughn (Philadelphia Orchestra, Assistant Principal Trombone), Blair Bollinger (Philadelphia Orchestra, Bass Trombone) Carol Jantsch (Tuba, Philadelphia Orchestra), Oystein Baadsvik (International Tuba Soloist, Norway) and Haim Avitsur (Trombone Faculty at Mannes College of Music).
