Leslie Braidech
Violin, Viola, received a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from The Ohio State University and a Master of Music degree in violin performance from the New England Conservatory of Music. In addition to CIM, Ms. Braidech is a studio teacher of violin and viola at the Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory; artist-in-residence (violin and viola studio teacher, string sectional leader) at the Cleveland School of the Arts; studio teacher of violin and viola and string chamber music coach at The Summer Institute at Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory. In 2001, she served as string orchestra sectional leader, chamber music coach and theory instructor at the Cleveland Music School Settlement Summer Arts Camp. From 1986 until 1988, she was a studio teacher of violin and viola in the Newton Public Schools (MA). Ms. Braidech is a violinist with the Cleveland Opera Orchestra, Lyric Opera Cleveland and the Cleveland Pops Orchestra. She also performs violin and viola with the Trinity Chamber Orchestra and Chamber Players at Trinity Cathedral in Cleveland and the Playhouse Square Orchestra. From 1988 to 2000, she was a violinist with the Ohio Chamber Orchestra and Cleveland Ballet Orchestra. From 1990 to 1994, she was violinist and founder of The Amani Duo, performing for Young Audiences of Greater Cleveland. From 1988 to 2000, she served as assistant concertmaster of the Cleveland Chamber Symphony and solo violinist for New Music Associates in Cleveland. Prior to that, she served as violinist with the Portland Symphony Orchestra for five years. Ms. Braidech received the only full violin fellowship to The Festival at Sandpoint (ID) in 1987 and a violin fellowship to The Berkshire Music Festival at Tanglewood (MA) in 1983 and 1984, where she was one of only four violinists to return by invitation. She received a violin fellowship to the Aspen Music Festival in 1982 and another to The Collegium Musicum Schloss Pommersfelden (Germany) in 1981. She was appointed to the CIM faculty in 1991.
