PARADE THE CIRCLE WITH CIM JUNE 13
On Saturday, June 13, University Circle institutions host a spectacular display of bright costumes, giant puppets, stilt-dancers, handmade masks and hands-on activities for the whole family during Parade the Circle Festivities run from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The parade is at noon.
As part of Parade the Circle, CIM will collaborate with other institutions in a musical crafts project. Somewhere between the light of day and the darkness of twilight, the JINGLE BUG makes enchanting music as it flutters around the garden and woodlands. Guests can bring this magical creature to life when CIM, the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes and Lake View Cemetery engage their creativity to reflect the sounds, colors and contrasts of nature. Visitors can also play in CIM's percussive TOWER OF SOUND to make their own music.

SUMMER PREPARATORY CAMPS HOST FINAL CONCERTS IN JUNE
CIM's summer preparatory programs wrap up their studies with final performances during the month of June.
On June 2 at 6:00 p.m., students in the SERGEI BABAYAN INTERNATIONAL PIANO ACADEMY will perform their final concert in Mixon Hall. Established in 1996, Mr. Babayan founded the Academy at CIM to assemble a group of pianists who wish to explore in-depth the instrument and repertoire.
On June 19 and 20, exceptional composers ages 14 through 19 from around the country in the Young Composers Program will present their compositions, performed by CIM students, in two concerts, beginning Friday June 19 at 8:00 p.m. This program provides students with training in craft of new composition with exposure to a wide array of listening selections. Performances are professionally recorded so each student receives a CD of his or her work.
The Summer Sonata Program, consisting of pianists ages 9 through 18 who have studied with CIM Preparatory and Conservatory faculty for two weeks, will perform a final concert event in Mixon Hall at 7:00 p.m. on June 26. This program, directed by Dr. Sean Schulze, provides regular private lessons, participation in master classes with renowned teachers and guest artists, as well as daily supervised practice sessions. Participants are also teamed up for coaching in a duo-piano format.
The same evening, in Kulas Hall, the CIM Summer Chamber Music ten-day festival, directed by Sandra Shapiro, will conclude in a gala concert featuring pre-college level pianists and string players.
