Violinist Erin Reidhead received her bachelor’s degree in violin performance with academic honors from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she studied with Stephen Rose, principal second violin of the Cleveland Orchestra. At CIM, she completed long-term Suzuki teacher training with Kimberly Meier-Sims. She has performed as concertmaster of the CIM Orchestra and is a two-time recipient of the Alumni Association Award for Academic Achievement. Upon graduating, Mrs. Reidhead was appointed to the CIM faculty at the Sato Center for Suzuki Studies.
An avid orchestral musician, she is a member of the Canton and Firelands Symphony Orchestras, and also performs regularly with the Erie Philharmonic and the Cleveland Pops Orchestra. She is also an experienced chamber musician, having performed in the Halo Ensemble and numerous string quartets, with which she has been a quarter-finalist in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Mrs. Reidhead made her solo debut at age 15 with the Frederick Symphony Orchestra and has since been featured with several orchestras in the Washington, D.C. area.
In past summers, she has participated in the National Repertory Orchestra, ENCORE School for Strings, Banff Masterclass Program, Bowdoin International Music Festival, and the Beijing International Music Festival and Academy. Highlights of recent summers include giving the world premiere of Ryan Francis’ Sylvan and performing with violinist Kathleen Winkler.
A native of Frederick, Maryland, Mrs. Reidhead grew up as a Suzuki student, studying with Ronda Cole and Lisa-Beth Lambert.
