Audio Division

CIM's degree programs in audio recording are intended for the musician who wishes to learn the art of audio/music production. There are two courses of study available - a four-year program solely in audio recording, and a five-year double-major program for students also majoring in performance, composition, or eurhythmics.

The full range of audio courses covers audio-system design and operation, digital audio, advanced microphone and recording techniques for all styles of music, audio for video production and postproduction, synthesis/electronic music, and multi-track recording techniques. An internship in a professional studio, independent projects, and four years of professional experience in CIM Recording Services round out the student experience.

All of this takes place in a brand new, state-of-the-art and one-of-a-kind facility at CIM's newly completed Lennon Education Building. Music recording studies are conducted under the guidance of Bruce Egre, plus adjunct faculty member and multi-Grammy Award winner, Jack Renner, former CEO and chief recording engineer of Telarc International.

Acoustics presentations and experiments are offered by adjunct faculty member, Dr. Peter D'Antonio, president of RPG Diffusor Systems. Significant successes of our graduates, who have achieved a remarkable 100% job placement rate, provide excellent testimony to the quality of their preparation.
