Bass Department
A bassist looking for an exciting blend of solo and orchestral playing should look no further than the Double Bass Department at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
Weekly lessons are provided by two world-renowned teachers, Jeffrey Bradetich and Max Dimoff, and Charles Charleton's Bass Repertoire Class prepares students for professional orchestral auditions.
Students play frequently for peers and teachers in studio class, and a small studio size creates a mutually supportive atmosphere for high-level bass playing. Stellar teaching, a positive learning environment, and extraordinary individual attention serve to develop bassists of extraordinary ability.
Also unique to the Bass Department is its relationship with the Cleveland Orchestra, providing an outstanding laboratory for the developing orchestral bass player. Cleveland Orchestra Principal Bassist, Max Dimoff, heads CIM's department.
