Concert Information
- CIM offers many concerts for FREE. Free concerts may require seating passes. Seating for free concerts is generally on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Concert halls open 30 minutes before the concert is scheduled to begin.
- All concerts begin promptly at the designated time. To ensure the enjoyment of all our patrons, and in deference to the artists, latecomers are admitted only at the discretion of the House Manager while a performance is in progress.
- The use of cameras (with or without flash) and recording devices during a performance is strictly prohibited without the express prior written consent of the Concerts and Events Office. Performances are recorded by CIM Recording Services. By attending a performance, patrons grant CIM the use of their image, likeness, name, voice or comments in any broadcast, photograph, audio and/or audio-video recordings.
- Concerts are performed in Kulas Hall and Mixon Hall. Concertgoers will be directed to the performance location upon arrival at CIM. Locations are also included in the Web calendar listings.
- Groups, Please call the Concerts and Events Office, (216) 791-5000, ext. 311, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to make arrangements. Due to limited seating in Mixon Hall, group reservations may not be accommodated.
- All programs and artists are subject to change without notice. In the event of a last-minute concert cancellation, every attempt will be made to inform the public via radio station WCLV 104.9 FM and the on the CIM web site. Current concert information is always available online or by calling 216.791.5000.
- Free parking is available after 4 p.m. in University Circle Parking Lot No. 43 and behind the CIM Annex, both of which are located on Hazel Drive. The metered parking spaces on East Boulevard and Hazel Drive are not ticketed after 6 p.m.
- Handicapped parking is available in the Lot 43 visitor lot across the street. All handicap parking is on a first-come, first-serve basis. A drop-off area in the front drive and ramp to the front entrance provides easy access for wheelchairs. Wheelchairs can also access the building through the North vestibule, which is across the street from Lot 43.
Ticket Sales Information
Free Seating Passes are required for concerts at which capacity attendance is expected. Please check the concert listing carefully for concerts requiring seating passes.
How Do I Get My Free Seating Pass?
- Seating passes can be reserved beginning one week prior to the concert date by calling the CIM Box Office at 216.791.5000 ext. 411, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Requests for passes will be taken until all passes have been reserved.
- Individuals are permitted to request up to four seating passes per concert.
- Reserved passes will be held at the Box Office and can be picked up at Will Call on the night of the concert beginning one hour before the concert start time.
- Seating passes are reserved only until 15 minutes before the concert start time - NO EXCEPTIONS. At that time, unclaimed passes will be distributed to patrons waiting for seats.
Ticket Purchases: Select concerts have been designated as paid events, in which a purchased ticket is required. Tickets can be purchased online or at the CIM Box Office in person or by phone by calling the CIM Box Office at 216.791.5000 ext. 411, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. CIM accepts Visa, Discover, MasterCard, American Express, cash or checks made payable to the Cleveland Institute of Music. A $3 handling fee is charged for each credit card transaction. Tickets are mailed up to one week prior to an event. After that, tickets are held at Will Call.
CIM Box Office, located in Room 102 just off Pogue Lobby, is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Day-of Ticket Sales: The Box Office will open one hour before the performance for in-person purchases. Phone orders and inquiries will not be answered at this time.
Handicapped Services: When ordering tickets, please indicate if your party needs handicap accessible seating.
Lost Tickets: If you are unable to locate your tickets, we can provide you with duplicate tickets to be picked up the evening of the concert. Call the Box Office to make arrangements before the night of the concert.
Gift Certificates: Gift certificates are available from the Box Office, redeemable toward ticket purchases for any performance.
No Refunds are possible unless the performance is cancelled.
Ticket Exchange Policy: Tickets may be exchanged for other tickets to the same production, subject to availability. Exchanges must be made during business hours, not on performance nights. Original tickets must be returned before new tickets can be issued.
Tickets may also be returned to CIM for resale and therefore considered a donation. A tax credit will be issued. Ticket exchanges and donations will not be honored after the concert date. Arrangements must be made before the concert day.

Office hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST Monday through Friday. Building hours may differ; check concert listings for performance times.
