Concerts and Events
Concerts are FREE unless otherwise noted: Free seating passes are required for concerts at which capacity attendance is expected. Please check concert listings carefully.
- Seating passes can be reserved beginning one week prior to the concert date by calling the CIM Box Office at 216.791.5000 ext. 411, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Individuals are permitted to request up to four seating passes per concert.
- Reserved passes will be held at the Box Office and may not be picked up until one hour before the concert begins. Reserved seating passes will be held only until 15 minutes before the concert start time. At that time, unclaimed passes will be distributed to patrons waiting for seats.
Doors Open: Concert halls open 30 minutes before the concert is scheduled to begin.
Concert Start Times: All concerts begin promptly at the designated time. To ensure the enjoyment of all our patrons, and in deference to the artists, latecomers are admitted only at the discretion of the House Manager while a performance is in progress.
Camera/Recording Policy: The use of cameras (with or without flash) and recording devices during a performance is strictly prohibited without the express prior written consent of the Concert and Events Office.
Groups Welcome: Make arrangements in advance by calling the Concerts and Events Office, 216.791.5000, ext. 311, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Subject to Change: All programs, artists and venues are subject to change without notice. In the event of a last-minute cancellation, every attempt will be made to inform the public via radio station WCLV 104.9 FM and cim.edu. Current concert information is always available at cim.edu or by calling 216.791.5000.
Handicapped Parking: Handicapped parking is available in CIM's front drive. All handicap parking is on a first-come, first-serve basis. A drop-off area in the front drive and ramp to the front entrance provides easy access for wheelchairs. Wheelchairs can also access the building through the Hazel Road entrance.
Event Parking: Due to construction in University Circle, parking for CIM has changed. Visitors may wish to allow extra time for parking.
Ticket Sales Information
Ticket Purchases: Select concerts have been designated as paid events. Tickets can be purchased online, in person, or by calling the CIM Box Office at 216.791.5000 ext. 411. The Box Office, located in Room 102 just off the Pogue Lobby, is open Monday through Friday during the regular academic year, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Payment Options: CIM accepts Visa, Discover, MasterCard, American Express, cash or checks made payable to the Cleveland Institute of Music.
Handling Fee: A $3 non-refundable handling fee is charged for each credit card transaction. Tickets are mailed up to one week prior to an event. After that, tickets are held at Will Call.
Summer Hours: The Box Office is not open during the summer. For information, please call the Concerts & Events Office at 216.791.5000, ext. 311.
Day of Ticket Sales: The Box Office will open one hour before the performance for in-person purchases only. Phone orders and inquiries cannot be answered at that time.
Handicapped Services: When ordering tickets, please indicate if your party needs handicap accessible seating.
Lost Tickets: If you are unable to locate your tickets, we can provide you with duplicate tickets to be picked up the evening of the concert.
Gift Certificates: Gift certificates are available from the Box Office, redeemable toward ticket purchases for any performance.
Ticket Exchange Policy: Opera patrons may exchange tickets for a different performance of the same production, subject to availability.
If you are unable to attend any paid concert, you can receive credit for a charitable donation of the purchase price by returning your tickets by phone no later than 3:00 p.m. on the day of the performance.
Parking at CIM
Free parking for CIM concerts is available in the CIM parking lot on Hazel Drive. There is also street parking on Hazel Drive and East Boulevard. This will often accommodate those attending our concerts. If the CIM lot is full, and depending upon their schedules, adjacent institutions' parking facilities may also be available on any given evening. These include the Cleveland Botanical Garden, the Western Reserve Historical Society, the University Circle Incorporated Administration Building and Severance Hall.
