Music
Over 2,100 musicians, both aspiring professionals and passionate amateurs, advance their skills at CIM each year.
Education
All degrees granted at CIM are conferred jointly by CIM and Case Western Reserve University. College- level enrollment is currently 415 students. CIMs Preparatory Department serves over 1,700 children and adults each year in private lessons, group classes, and ensembles.
Reputation
CIM is one of the nations top-tier conservatories, comparable to The Juilliard School. CIM students are frequent winners of national and international competitions. Many go on to major solo careers or hold positions in major orchestras and ensembles, such as the world-renowned Cleveland Orchestra. Currently, over half of the members of The Cleveland Orchestra are either alumni or faculty at CIM.
Concerts
CIM is the only venue in the region to produce a full season of free, live classical music. Annually, more than 47,000 music lovers gain access to classical music through CIMs programming.
Outreach
CIMs Community Education Department regularly sends student ensembles into neighborhoods throughout the region to perform. Many of these visits are to hospitals, long-term care facilities, urban schools and library branches. CIM also reaches over 11,000 children annually throughout the State of Ohio through its Distance Learning program.
Community
CIM is a sound investment and is good for our community! A recent study by Impact Economics found CIM's total economic impact in Ohio is $90 million per year. In attracting gifted students, master educators and audiences from around the world, CIM was found to have a remarkable impact in the music world and an ongoing sustainable economic impact in the State of Ohio.
