Faculty Team Up for Fresh New Album


Recent GRAMMY nominated artist and head of CIM’s guitar department Jason Vieaux has teamed up with internationally acclaimed soloist and CIM harp department head Yolanda Kondonassis for a new album entitled Together, which released this week on Azica Records. The CD is a true CIM production. It was produced by Alan Bise, director of recording arts and services and the recording engineer was Bruce Egre, head of the audio recording degree program. The album features new works for the harp and guitar including “Knock on Wood,” composed by head of CIM’s composition department Keith Fitch.  

Composer Margaret Brouwer Talks Birthday Celebration at CIM with WCLV

Margaret Brouwer is celebrating her 75th birthday this year. Instead of “Happy Birthday,” the Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra performed some of her most dazzling music at a special free concert on January 28. Cleveland Makes the List of Top Travel Destinations for 2015

Alongside exotic locales that include Britain, Milan, Singapore and Iceland, the Los Angeles Times Travel Section has named Cleveland (OH!) one of 15 destinations that travelers should check out in 2015. This comes in the wake of the recent inclusion of our Erie-side city in Fodor’s list of 25 must-see travel destinations for 2015, and Travel and Leisure magazine’s 50 Best Places to Travel in 2015.

CIM Faculty and Student Land Grammy Nominations

Grammy nominations are out and the Cleveland Institute of Music congratulates student Daniil Trifonov; head of the CIM Guitar Department Jason Vieaux; violin faculty member Jaime Laredo; Director of Recording Services Alan Bise and head of the Audio Recording Degree Program Bruce Egre on their nominations.

On Friday, October 10 CBS Evening News with Scott Pelly aired it’s popular segment, “On the Road with Steve Hartman,” featuring Cleveland Institute of Music students Daniel Parvin and Marissa Plank, the artists-in-residence at Judson Manor, a senior living community.
