Magazines

Overview

Aimed at the general reader, magazines include articles on a variety of topics related to a specific reader group OR related to a specific area of interest. Articles are written by journalists or professional writers who may or may not have subject expertise. Articles usually do not include a bibliography (list of sources consulted). Magazines often contain many advertisements.

Music specific magazines may provide job listings or directories of resources (instrument makers, educational opportunities, and festivals). May list awards and recent appointments in related areas (e.g. Symphony)
