Find Dissertations
- Digital Dissertations:
Contains more than 2 million entries for doctoral dissertations and master's theses (1861 - present). Digital Dissertations provides access to digital dissertations submitted electronically by Case Western Reserve University. However, at this time CWRU does not subscribe to ProQuest's larger electronic collection of dissertations. Conservatory students & faculty members may request dissertations not available electronically through Interlibrary Loan. - RILM Abstracts of Music:
Indexes theses and dissertations in music as well as articles in books and journals related to the study of music. - Doctoral Dissertations in Musicology
- Dissertations in Music Theory
DMA Dissertations Held Locally
DMA Documents at the Robinson Music Library (PDF) - lists dissertations written for CIM degrees held by the Robinson Music Library.
Both the Robinson and Kulas Music Libraries collect dissertations written at other schools. These may be found by searching the library catalog. The Kulas Music Library also maintains a list of DMA Dissertations from other schools (PDF | web) at the Kulas Music Library.
Requesting Dissertations
- To request a CIM dissertation, submit a storage request at the Circulation desk (Robinson Music Library). Allow one day for retrieval. CIM Dissertations are for in-library use and may not be photocopied.
- Interlibrary Loan. Dissertations are typically held by the libraries of the educational institutions where they were completed. Some libraries maintain microfilm copies of dissertations. Many libraries will lend a copy (print or microfilm) of a dissertation. The library has a microfilm reader/printer.
