Instrumentalist, Vocalist and Music Educator ANTHONY J SLUSSER is proud to call the Greater Cleveland area his home.

As a Music Educator, Slusser interacts with over 150 students each month, with students aged three through adulthood. He teaches Eurhythmics, Theory, and Private Instrumental Lessons at such esteemed institutions as the Cleveland Institute of Music, the Music Settlement University Circle, the Western Reserve Suzuki School, the Early Childhood Enrichment Center at Shaker Heights, and occasionally the Aurora School of Music.

Salutatorian of his high school class and having graduated college recognized as Magna cum Laude, Slusser has been recognized by awards both musical and nonmusical. Recognized with a John Philip Sousa Band Award in 2005, Anthony was inducted into Pi Kappa Lambda in 2009. He was the recipient of Scholarship awards in the names of Clara A. Hobstetter and Josephine R. Peale for musical performance, and Boyd Loughridge for instrumental music. Slusser was a winner of the 2008 Capital University Concerto Competition, and won Third prize in the 2010 Darius Milhaud Performance Competition alongside other members of the Tonic 5 Wind Quintet. Also fluent in German, Anthony was inducted into the Phi Sigma Iota Foreign Language Honor Society in 2008. He holds music performance degrees from Capital University (BM 2009) and the Cleveland Institute of Music (MM 2011).

As a Musical Performer, Anthony can be seen playing Woodwind Instruments with the FiveOne Experimental Orchestra, or playing Keyboards and singing background vocals for Kyle Primous and K Street. He also enjoys playing for Classical Revolution Cleveland. Slusser has worked with a plethora of classical music organizations in the past, including the Lima Area Youth Orchestra, the Columbus Youth Symphony, Wintergreen Performing Arts, the Westerville Symphony Orchestra, the Central Ohio Symphony Orchestra, the Ashland Symphony, the Ohio Philharmonic Orchestra and the University Circle Wind Ensemble, with whom he performed Juriaan Andriessen’s Concertino for Bassoon and Wind Ensemble. Anthony also enjoys improvising at the piano, and has a fondness for learning how to play other musical instruments.

Through his education, Slusser had significant experiences working with a number of outstanding educators, including Barry Kopetz (conducting), Lynda Hasseler (chorus), Cynthia Cioffari (bassoon), Steven Secan (oboe), Lynn Roseberry (voice), Gary Ciepluch (conducting), John Clouser (bassoon), Brian Sweigart (eurhythmics), Ida Mercer (cello) and Marshall Griffith (piano/improvisation).
