Kelly St. Pierre
Kelly St. Pierre holds a Ph.D. in Musicology from Case Western Reserve University. Her research explores the earliest scholarship around Bedřich Smetana to reveal the ways it generated political myths about him and his works. It also examines how these myths were adapted in twentieth-century scholarship to suit the ideologies of the Communist administration. She has presented at national and international conferences and published in 19th-Century Music. She is also working on her forthcoming book, Bedřich Smetana: Myth, Music, and Propaganda. Kelly currently teaches undergraduate and graduate music history courses in the Music and SAGES Departments at Case Western and the Cleveland Institute of Music.
