Chamber Music Program
Directed by Sandra Shapiro, the Chamber Music Program is an exciting way for musicians to enhance their solo skills by exploring the wonderful array of music written for various combinations of instruments. We find that not only does playing in an ensemble sharpen listening and playing skills, it serves as a fun way for musicians to meet and exchange ideas with other musicians.
The Cleveland Institute of Music Preparatory Chamber Music Program is designed not only to introduce chamber music to inexperienced players of most ability levels, but also to provide continuing instruction for those previously enrolled in the program. Our faculty coaches are highly regarded chamber musicians, and are experienced in working with a wide variety of ensembles.
Groups are formed after the audition process is completed, and suitable matches are made based on ability and age. Existing ensembles will be kept together should they so desire. Each semester has a Master Class presented by a CIM faculty member and a final concert at the end of the semester.
