About CIM Summer Chamber Music

Directed by Sandra Shapiro, CIM Summer Chamber Music is a 10-day experience for piano, string and wind players interested in exploring music outside of their solo venues. The rich and varied works available in the chamber music repertoire provide endless opportunities to explore and expand one’s musical horizons.

Students will have the chance to meet and work with other young musicians of similar abilities and musical interests.

The course will combine coachings, supervised rehearsals, ear training, chamber music literature classes, rehearsal techniques, Dalcroze classes, public master classes and a final performance.

Applicants must submit a completed application form and $35 non-refundable application fee before an audition will be scheduled. Applicants will be notified of audition date/time one week prior to the audition. Students will be asked to play two pieces of contrasting styles and sight-read. String students should prepare a 3-octave scale and will audition without accompaniment.

What to Expect

Each student will participate in two groups with one project (piece) for each group.
