Introduction

Scott Dixon has been a member of The Cleveland Orchestra double bass section since 2007. In addition to performing with the orchestra, Dixon is an active teacher, pedagogue, recitalist, lecturer and arranger. At CIM, Dixon has served as the head of the double bass department since 2017 and as chair of the string division since 2018. He has been a faculty member of the Domaine Forget summer bass workshop since 2011. Holding master's and bachelor's degrees respectively from Rice University and the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, he also was a fellow at the New World Symphony and Aspen Music Festival and School.
