Tickets Still Available April 9 CIM@Severance Concert
April 8, 2014
Wednesday, April 9, is the fifth and final Cleveland Institute of Music Orchestra concert at Severance Hall for the 2013-2014 season. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling the Severance Hall Box Office at 216.231.1111 or visiting clevelandorchestra.com.
The CIM Orchestra will perform the following works under the skillful baton of guest conductor Kimbo Ishii (top right):
BERLIOZ Overture to Le Roi Lear
(King Lear), Op. 4
SCRIABIN Piano Concerto
in F-sharp minor, Op. 20
TCHAIKOVSKY Symphony No. 4
in F minor, Op. 36
CIM (Fall) Concerto Competition winner pianist Shicong Liu (bottom right) will join the Orchestra on stage to perform Scriabin’s Piano Concerto.
For many of our musicians, this will be the last time they perform as a student on the stage shared by many of their esteemed instructors and mentors who are members of The Cleveland Orchestra. Each performance at Severance Hall is a special one for our musicians—a voyage of discovery filled with energy and excitement for these young artists, who bring a freshness to the classical repertoire.
We hope you will join us for this final orchestra performance of the year in the regal and awe-inspiring Home of the Cleveland Orchestra.
Tickets start at just $5 for orchestra and balcony, $10 for dress circle and $20 for reserved box seats (boxes must be purchased by phone or in person). Call the Severance Hall Box Office at 216.231.1111 or buy online at clevelandorchestra.com.
This event is presented in appreciation of BakerHostetler.
