  • Cleveland International Music Festival - Faculty Recital

    The 1st Cleveland International Music Festival will be held from July 29th, 2016 to August 6th, 2016 in Cleveland, Ohio. World-famous music maestros and eminent music educators will offer young pianists, string players and singers individual professional instruction. Cleveland is a city with abundant musical resources, and the Cleveland International Music Festival, with professionalism and precision, aim to cultivate CIMF as one of the most influential music festivals internationally.

Jiah Chung, violinist, holds both Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from CIM, where her principal teachers were David Cerone, David Updegraff and David Russell. Ms. Chung has been a prize winner in many competitions, including the Sioux City Concerto Competition, Lucy Palmero Weed Competition and was a Grand Prize winner of the Des Moines Young Artist Competition. As a chamber and orchestral musician, Ms. Chung has performed throughout the United States as well as in Europe and South Korea. She has performed as a soloist with the Sioux City Orchestra, Waterloo/Cedar Falls Symphony, Des Moines Symphony Orchestra, World Youth Symphony Orchestra and the National Repertory Orchestra. Ms. Chung is currently concertmaster of Opera Cleveland and appears regularly with the Cleveland Chamber Symphony, and the Cleveland Pops Orchestra. She was appointed to the CIM faculty in 2003.
