Daniel Crain is currently in his third year as band director at Mentor High School in Mentor, Ohio where he directs the Wind Ensemble, Grey Band, Freshman Band, Jazz Band, Pit Orchestra, and assists with the Fighting Cardinal Marching Band. Mr. Crain earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Bowling Green State University in 2003, and his Master of Arts in Music from Case Western Reserve University in 2008.
Prior to his appointment at Mentor High School, Mr. Crain taught general music and band for one year in the Youngstown City Schools, and two years at Perry Local Schools in Massillon, Ohio. As a high school student, Mr. Crain was a member of the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony under Dr. Ciepluch’s baton. As the conductor of the CYWS II Concert Winds, Mr. Crain feels honored and privileged to have the opportunity to give back to the organization which has given him so much.
