    The 1st Cleveland International Music Festival will be held from July 29th, 2016 to August 6th, 2016 in Cleveland, Ohio. World-famous music maestros and eminent music educators will offer young pianists, string players and singers individual professional instruction. Cleveland is a city with abundant musical resources, and the Cleveland International Music Festival, with professionalism and precision, aim to cultivate CIMF as one of the most influential music festivals internationally.

Massimo La Rosa joined The Cleveland Orchestra as principal trombone in September 2007. He made his subscription solo debut with the Orchestra in February 2013 performing the Trombone Concerto by Nino Rota. He also performed David’s Trombone Concertino on the orchestra's season opening gala in October 2011 under the direction of Franz Welser-Möst.

He was named “New Artist of the Month” by Musical America following the release of his solo recording, Cantando. Mr. La Rosa was principal trombone of La Fenice Opera House from 1996 to 2007. He has performed as principal trombone of the Saito Kinen Festival Orchestra in Japan, La Scala Opera in Milan and the Santa Cecilia Orchestra in Rome. Mr. La Rosa has performed concerti with La Fenice Orchestra, the Sicilian Symphonic Orchestra of Palermo, the Campinas Symphony in Brazil and the United States Army Band, “Pershing’s Own”.

He is on the faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Music and has presented recitals and master classes at major conservatories in the United States, Europe, Japan and South America. A Bach Trombone Artist, Mr. La Rosa recently worked with the Conn-Selmer company to develop a new Bach Artisan Trombone with the Massimo La Rosa (MLR-03) Valve.

Born in Palermo, Italy, Mr. La Rosa grew up in Belmonte Mezzagno, a small town near Palermo. He attended the Conservatory of Music in Palermo where he studied with Filippo Bonanno. Mr. La Rosa enjoys playing for social causes and has recently performed several benefit recitals in collaboration with the Italian Consulate in Cleveland and Detroit that have raised thousands of dollars to benefit the ANFE Light of Life Foundation, an organization that provides financial assistance and treatment for children with retinal disorders.
