    Bad Music and Bad Musicians
    Dr. Timothy Cutler
The greatness of renowned composers and performers is easily taken for granted unless we spend some time at the other end of the talent spectrum.

Violinist Erin Phelps Reidhead received her bachelor’s degree in violin performance with academic honors from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she studied with Stephen Rose.  At CIM, she completed long-term Suzuki teacher training with Kimberly Meier-Sims.  Upon graduating, Reidhead was appointed to the faculty at the Sato Center for Suzuki Studies at CIM.

An avid orchestral musician, she is a member of the Canton Symphony Orchestra and also performs with the Akron Symphony and the Cleveland Pops Orchestra. In past summers, she has participated in the National Repertory Orchestra, ENCORE School for Strings, Banff Masterclass Program, Bowdoin International Music Festival and the Beijing International Music Festival and Academy.

A native of Frederick, Maryland, Reidhead grew up as a Suzuki student, studying with Ronda Cole and Lisa-Beth Lambert.  Additional studies have been with Kathleen Winkler, Marylou Speaker Churchill and David and Linda Cerone.  She currently resides in Cleveland Heights with her husband, horn player Ben Reidhead, and their daughters.
