Outstanding conservatory musicians present mixed programs of chamber music amid the museum’s collections for a unique and intimate experience—concerts regularly feature instruments from the museum’s keyboard collection.

From standard repertoire to unknown gems, these early-evening, hour-long performances are a delightful after-work encounter or the start of a night out. Programs announced the week of the performance.

If you are looking for an orchestral career on the double bass then CIM is the place for you.

CIM is located within short walking distance of Severance Hall, home of the world renowned Cleveland Orchestra, and Cleveland Orchestra principal bassist Maximilian Dimoff heads the CIM double bass department. Joining him on the faculty are Cleveland Orchestra colleagues Scott Dixon and Derek Zadinsky.

In addition to weekly lessons from their primary teachers, all double bass students perform with the CIM Orchestra with sectionals coached by Scott Dixon. Students also perform in the orchestral repertoire class each week. Instruction for this class is by Maximilian Dimoff and Scott Dixon. The culmination of the repertoire class is a regional mock audition involving other major music schools in the Cleveland and Pittsburgh areas.

There are also technique and studio classes with each teacher. The CIM double bass department creates a healthy and encouraging environment that supports healthy competition. We are looking for talented musicians that are looking to become the best double bassists that they can be.
