Introduction

As director, partnerships and career strategy, Ali King oversees the Center for Innovative Musicianship and serves as faculty of digital media studies. On staff since June 2021, King is responsible for elevating and expanding CIM’s digital storytelling, developing entrepreneurial curriculum and experiential learning opportunities, and building relationships that strengthen CIM's brand as the future of classical music within Cleveland and globally.

King most recently was director of marketing and business development at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where she oversaw production of digital content and growth of community engagement, and drove the product strategy for the school’s first online mentorship program.

Originally from St. Louis and a classically trained pianist, King has previously worked in user experience research at Comcast and arts advocacy at the Pew Charitable Trusts. In 2017, she founded and ran a locally-sourced stationery company, Groundswell Greetings, which was acquired by Philadelphia-based retailer Pomelo in 2020. She offers brand strategy and digital marketing consulting to a growing roster of independent artists and creative small business owners.
