Ali King was appointed CIM's first-ever director of digital media in July 2021. In this newly created role, she will elevate and expand CIM’s digital presence, establish new digital programs, develop curriculum and teach digital media skills to the Institute’s students and serve as CIM’s digital ambassador to the global community.

King most recently was director of marketing and business development at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where she oversaw production of digital content and growth of community engagement, and drove the product strategy for the school’s first online mentorship program.

Originally from St. Louis and a classically trained pianist, King has previously worked in user experience research at Comcast and arts advocacy at The Pew Charitable Trusts. In 2017, she founded and ran a locally-sourced stationery company, Groundswell Greetings, which was acquired by Philadelphia-based retailer Pomelo in 2020. She offers digital media consulting to a growing roster of independent artists and creative small business owners.
