Madeline Lucas Tolliver is an arts administrator and flutist based in Cleveland, OH. Recently appointed Dean of Artistic Administration and Operations, Tolliver previously held posts overseeing the Preparatory and Continuing Education Division and all Conservatory large ensembles and woodwind chamber programs at CIM, in addition to serving as a flute faculty member in the Preparatory Division.
In her current role at CIM, Tolliver’s artistic operations portfolio includes leadership of the CIM Orchestra program administration, other large and chamber ensemble support, all concert series planning, and associated operations and execution such as concert production, Recording Arts and Services, box office operations, special events, and partner and external presenter relationships. In the area of facilities operations, Tolliver oversees all large building repairs and upgrade projects and manages the maintenance and security teams. She is also responsible for leading CIM’s COVID-19 response and protocols.
Tolliver is a CIM alumna, graduating with her bachelor’s in 2009 and master's in 2011 from the studio of Joshua Smith. Previous teachers include Valerie Simosko (flute) and Jan Herboth (piano). Originally from Charlotte, NC, Tolliver and her husband currently reside in Cleveland Heights and enjoy attending indie and experimental live music events, cooking, and political and social justice advocacy.
