Recently, he released his first studio recording of concertos by Mendelssohn and John Adams to rave reviews, and now he’s the cover story of Strings magazine.

Grammy Winner, Cleveland Pops Oboist, CIM Alumnus

Today CIM alumnus Thomas Moore is principal oboist for the Cleveland Pops Orchestra, though it’s just one in a list of impressive positions on his resume, which also includes four Grammy Award wins. Not bad considering he chose the instrument almost by default, since his sisters had chosen the flute and clarinet and his parents had “banned” any brass from the house.

Make a Lunch Date with the CIM Alumni Association

Beginning on July 1 and continuing each Tuesday in July, alumni of the Cleveland Institute of Music will perform a lunchtime recital in CIM’s charming (and air conditioned) Mixon Hall.

ChamberFest Cleveland celebrates “Three,” starting and ending at CIM

ChamberFest Cleveland, co-founded by two members of the CIM family — Franklin Cohen and his daughter Diana (pictured) — is back for a third season, and they’ll kick things off in CIM’s state-of-the-art Mixon Hall with a concert entitled Celebrate 3! performed at 8pm on Thursday, June 19.

CIM welcomes Stanislav Khristenko, 2013 CIPC Winner and CIM Alum

Stanislav Khristenko, winner of the 2013 Cleveland International Piano Competition (CIPC) and a Cleveland Institute of Music alumnus, returns to CIM’s Kulas Hall stage at 8pm on Sunday, May 11, for a recital presented by CIPC and featuring works by Bartók, Liszt, Chopin and more.
