New! CIM’s Percussion Ensemble is designed for students in grades 8-12. Under the direction of Luke Rinderknecht, students collaborate to explore nearly a century of percussion ensemble repertoire and learn different styles and techniques.

Program at a Glance

  • The program is designed for intermediate and advanced high school and middle school percussionists
  • Students develop chamber music and small ensemble skills, including collaborative interpretation
  • Students explore music written exclusively for percussion instruments—played by three or more musicians—by composers active in the current day and recent past
  • Coachings are offered at CIM’s University Circle campus
  • Auditions are required

Application & Audition

To apply for the Percussion Ensemble, please fill out the application.

Placement auditions are required for this program. Students will be asked to perform a snare drum solo, marimba solo and timpani solo of their choice.
