  • Cleveland International Music Festival - Faculty Recital

    The 1st Cleveland International Music Festival will be held from July 29th, 2016 to August 6th, 2016 in Cleveland, Ohio. World-famous music maestros and eminent music educators will offer young pianists, string players and singers individual professional instruction. Cleveland is a city with abundant musical resources, and the Cleveland International Music Festival, with professionalism and precision, aim to cultivate CIMF as one of the most influential music festivals internationally.

Music Education, CWRU; CIM Preparatory Division, is director of bands and associate professor at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), conductor of the University Circle Wind Ensemble, and founder/music director of the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphonies. To his current positions in the joint music program at CWRU and CIM, he brings a broad knowledge and background in contemporary wind music and music education. He appears frequently as a clinician and guest conductor in the U.S. and abroad. The Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony has taken eight International Concert tours to the Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, New Zealand, Ireland, France, Scotland, England and twice to Australia. At the May 1999 CWRU Commencement Ceremonies, Dr. Ciepluch was awarded the distinguished Carl F. Wittke Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching by then University President Agnar Pytte. Dr. Ciepluch has conducted numerous premiere performances and has won the praise of composers Olivier Messiaen, Karel Husa, Paul Turok, Donald Erb, and others. As a member of the National Band Association, he has served as chairman of the distinguished selection committee for the annual National Band Association Composition Contest. In addition, he is an active member of the College Band Directors National Association and past president of the Ohio Private College Instrumental Conductors Association. He was appointed to the CWRU faculty in 1988.
