    Dr. Timothy Cutler
The greatness of renowned composers and performers is easily taken for granted unless we spend some time at the other end of the talent spectrum.

Co-Head, Timpani and Percussion Department, has been principal timpanist of The Cleveland Orchestra since 1981. He received a Bachelor of Music degree from CIM as a student of Cloyd Duff and Richard Weiner. Before his Cleveland appointment, Mr. Yancich served as the timpanist of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and on the faculty at Georgia State University. Mr. Yancich has given master classes and recitals in the U.S., Europe, Asia and New Zealand. He performed as timpani soloist with The Cleveland Orchestra for the world premiere of James Oliverio's Timpani Concerto #1. He was appointed to the CIM faculty in 1981.
