April 30 Orchestras Concert: Important Information
In order to keep the hall and traffic paths clear, we will be keeping the performance hall clear of instrument cases, coats and other items. We will be providing a green room for students to leave their belongings. The room will be 217. Students should leave coats and cases in this room before going to their dress rehearsal in Kulas. This room will be available from 8:00 am to 1:30 pm to safely secure cases and coats. Audience members will be allowed in the hall 30 minutes prior to the start of the concert, but not during the dress rehearsals.
Dress Rehearsal and Concert Start Time
Dress rehearsals on Dec 12 will be as follows:
8:30-9:10 am Beginning Orchestra Dress Rehearsal
9:25-10:05 am Preparatory Orchestra Dress Rehearsal
10:20-11:00 am Youth String Camerata Dress Rehearsal
11:30 am Concert
Dress for the concerts is white shirt/blouse, dark skirt or dress slacks, black shoes and socks.
The concert should conclude around 1:00 pm.
Video and Audio Recording
We do not allow the use of cameras and recording devices in the hall during the concert. CIM does have a written policy strictly prohibiting the use of cameras and recording devices. In lieu of this policy, CIM will be video-taping the orchestra concert in April. The CD/DVD order form includes this option to purchase a professional DVD recording and will be available on the day of the concert.
If there are any questions, please feel free to contact the Prep office at 216-791-5000.
Musicians flourish when they play together and gain from the experience of others. Participation not only strengthens the individual student, but students improve their performance levels in their school band program. CIM ensembles are available to young people in Northeast Ohio whether or not they study privately at the Institute.
We are pleased to announce that Brian Thornton will be the conductor of the Beginning Orchestra and Preparatory Orchestra for the 2015-2016 school year. Mr. Thornton shared his expertise and knowledge with our orchestra students last year as a substitute and we are thrilled he will be working with our students again.
