Engage with the Community
Community programs enable students to practice entrepreneurial skills and develop a sense of civic practice by using their musicianship to engage with the communities in which they live and learn.
Through CIM², students can gain experience booking and coordinating their own community performances at venues throughout the greater Cleveland area and inquire about collaborative opportunities with local organizations. Freelance opportunities are also available through CIM’s Hire a Student Performer (Gig) Service. This service presents students with opportunities to work directly with external clients and develop their own performance contracts while navigating professional communications and expanding their portfolio. For students interested in gaining teaching experience, CIM²’s partnership with the Cleveland School of the Arts (CSA) creates opportunities to mentor high-school age students through one-on-one music lessons, ensemble coachings, and arts-integrated teaching.
