The Cleveland Institute of Music's 99th Commencement Ceremony will take place Saturday, May 18, with a special guest delivering the commencement address. Honors Convocation will be held the day before, on Friday, May 17 to celebrate our students' many accomplishments. Commencement weekend will be a live, in-person celebration at CIM, but families are also welcome to tune in on the livestreams of both events.
Honors Convocation is Friday, May 17, at 10am in Mixon Hall. All prizes will be awarded during this ceremony. Prize winners will be notified in advance by the Dean’s Office and invited to attend in person. All students are encouraged to attend to support friends and colleagues.
The commencement ceremony is Saturday, May 18 at 11am in Kulas Hall. All participating students must check in at 10:15am outside Mixon Hall with Mia O'Riordan. Tickets may be picked up at the Box Office for your guests prior to the ceremony. Reception following Commencement.
Caps and gowns may be picked up in the mail room beginning Wednesday, May 1. Please iron your robe and hang it on a hanger for 24 hours prior to Commencement to eliminate wrinkles. Master of Music, Professional Studies and Artist Diploma students will wear hoods during the ceremony. Please return your cap, gown and hood to room 113 immediately following the ceremony. If you do not return these items, you will be charged the rental fee.
Commencement rehearsal is Friday, May 17 at 2pm in Kulas Hall. Every graduate should be in attendance! If you are unable to attend the rehearsal and expect to participate in the ceremony, please inform the Registrar’s Office at registrar@cim.edu prior to the day of the rehearsal.
