Introduction

At CIM, Thomas Sherwood coaches the Percussion Ensemble. 

Sherwood joined the percussion section of The Cleveland Orchestra in 2015. He previously served as principal percussion of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra from 1999-2015. Prior to joining the Atlanta Symphony, he was a member of the New World Symphony in Miami for three seasons. In addition to his orchestral work, Sherwood is a passionate advocate for contemporary music. For the past decade, he has served as artistic director and percussionist for Sonic Generator, a chamber ensemble specializing in performances of modern electro-acoustical music. An active teacher and clinician, Sherwood has presented master classes at many of the nation's top universities and conservatories.
