Thank you for your interest in The Cleveland Institute of Music!

Step 1 (completed): Your application for studio instruction or classes through the Preparatory & Continuing Education Division is the first step in our open enrollment process. Please remember that submitting this application does not guarantee placement, as classes and lessons are limited to availability.

Step 2: We will review the application together with your particular preferences for faculty, branch locations, days and times in order to place you with one of our talented faculty members. Our open enrollment policy allows us to admit new students whenever an opening in a faculty member's teaching schedule occurs and matches an applicant's request. When we find suitable openings to meet your application request, we will contact you about the placement options.

Step 3: We will then arrange for you to meet your prospective teacher by telephone or in person. The teacher will notify us when you have mutually agreed to a day and time for your studio instruction or class.

Upon your successful placement in the studio of one of our faculty members, we will issue an invoice for all applicable tuition and fees.

Tuition for lessons is charged at an hourly rate, which varies by instructor, and is billed by semester. Tuition for classes is charged by the semester. A per-student administrative fee will be charged for the combined fall and spring semesters ($50) and for the optional summer session ($15).

Invoices are due within 30 days of issuance. Please read our Student Policies & Procedures for complete information about your enrollment in the Preparatory & Continuing Education Division of CIM.
