Keith Fitch named Composer-in-Residence for Summer Festival

Cleveland Institute of Music Composition Department Head Keith Fitch has been named Composer-in-Residence for 2015 summer festival at Rocky Ridge Music Center.

"I am thrilled to be joining the faculty of the Rocky Ridge Music Center, and I look forward to making music with such a distinguished group of artists," said Fitch, who is the Vincent K. & Edith H. Smith Chair in Composition at CIM and director of the CIM New Music Ensemble. "I am also very excited to welcome this summer's young composers, whom I'm certain will inspire and excite all of us with fresh sounds and ideas."

Like most CIM faculty members, Fitch often spends his summer break making music, teaching or both. This summer, for example, after the CIM Young Composers Program he directs wrapped up in June, Fitch headed to the Hudson River Valley. There he spent July composing uninterrupted, having been awarded a Copland House Residency.
