Alumnus Receives Arts Challenge

CutTime Productions, directed by CIM alumnus Rick Robinson (BM '86), was named a winner of the 2013 Detroit Knight Arts Challenge, funded by the Knight Foundation. The Foundation uses the arts as a way to attract and keep the talent that fuels cities and local economies.

Robinson left the Detroit Symphony to dedicate himself fully to CutTime Productions and its Classical Revolution Detroit series, which takes musicians out of the concert halls and into popular neighborhood cafes, eateries and bars. The performances provide a deeply felt reminder of the way the classics enrich everyone’s lives.

As a recipient of the Challenge grant, CutTime Productions will expand its Classical Revolution offerings.

Founded in 1994, CutTime Productions has earned a reputation for professional digital music printing and arrangement from personalized editions of solo music to complete sets of full orchestra scores and parts.
