Concerts are FREE unless otherwise noted. Please check listings carefully. Events in Mixon Hall may require free seating passes. For these, and to purchase tickets for paid events, please contact the Box Office or go online at cim.edu.
Tickets: Tickets for paid events can be purchased online, in person or by calling the CIM Box Office, weekdays between 10am and 3pm. Online ticketing is disabled at 3pm on the day of a weekday event or on the Friday before a weekend event. On concert nights, the Box Office will re-open one hour prior to the event for in-person sales and will call only. Phone calls cannot be answered during pre-concert sales.
Payment: CIM accepts Visa, Discover, MasterCard, American Express, cash or checks made payable to the Cleveland Institute of Music. A $1 non-refundable handling fee is charged for each ticket purchased using a credit card, up to a $5 maximum fee per transaction. Tickets are mailed up to one week prior to an event. After that, tickets are held at the CIM Box Office.
Handicapped Seating: When ordering tickets, please indicate if your party needs handicap accessible seating.
All sales are final: No refunds are possible unless the performance is cancelled. If you are unable to attend any paid concert, you can receive credit for a charitable donation for the purchase price by returning your tickets by phone no later than 3pm on the day of the performance.
Ticket Exchange Policy: Opera patrons may exchange tickets for a different performance of the same production, subject to availability. Exchanges must be made before 3pm on the day of the performance.
Lost Tickets: CIM can provide duplicate tickets to be picked up the evening of the concert. Call before 3pm the day of the concert.
Gift Certificates: Gift certificates redeemable toward ticket purchases for any performance are available from the Box Office.
Seating Passes: Free seating passes are required for faculty and chamber orchestra concerts in Mixon Hall. Passes can be reserved beginning one week prior to the concert date by calling the CIM Box Office or going to cim.edu. Reserved passes are held at the Box Office and may be picked up beginning one hour before the concert begins. In the case of a sellout, passes are held only until 15 minutes prior to concert start, at which time unclaimed passes are distributed to patrons waiting for seats.
Groups: Groups are welcome. To make arrangements, call the Concerts & Events Office at 216.791.6770.
Doors Open: Concert Halls open 30 minutes before the concert is scheduled to begin. All concerts begin promptly at the designated time. Out of respect for performers and patrons, latecomers are admitted at the discretion of the House Manager while a performance is in progress. Patrons are seated at the first appropriate break in the program. While waiting, patrons can watch a broadcast of the performance in the lobby.
Hearing aids and other health assisted devices: For the comfort of those around you, please reduce the volume on hearing aids and other devices that may produce a noise that would detract from the program. Infrared Assistive Listening Devices are available for Mixon Hall. Please see a House Manager for more details.
Photography, videography and recording: The use of cameras (with or without flash) or recording devices of any kind is strictly prohibited. All cell phones must be turned off during the performance.
All electronic devices and alarms should be turned off when in the concert hall.
Subject to Change: All programs, artists and venues are subject to change. In the event of a last minute cancellation, every attempt is made to inform the public via cim.edu and social media channels. Current concert information is available at cim.edu or by calling 216.791.5000.
Parking: Free parking for CIM concerts is available in the CIM parking lot on Hazel Drive. There is also street parking on Hazel Drive and East Boulevard. This will often accommodate those attending our concerts. If the CIM lot is full, and depending upon their schedules, adjacent institutions' parking facilities may also be available on any given evening. These include the Cleveland Botanical Garden, the Western Reserve Historical Society, the University Circle Incorporated Administration Building and Severance Hall. CIM’s East Boulevard and Hazel Drive entrances are wheelchair accessible.
