Music Theory Colloquium: Generating Music of Any Style
Music Theory Colloquium Lecture
By abstracting harmonic motions into mathematical quantities, we can generate music that uses the pitch materials and follows the conventions of any style. We can also run the process in reverse to give precise breakdowns of the harmonic tendencies of any piece, composer or genre.
