As of August 17, 2022

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, CIM's health and safety policies have been designed to respond to changes in conditions on our campus and prioritize the ability of our students to focus on their musical growth and development. With the start of a new school year, we will continue to monitor conditions regarding COVID-19, as well as Monkeypox , Monkeypox | University Health and Counseling Services | Division of Student Affairs | Case Western Reserve University] to keep our community healthy and the music playing.

The COVID-19 vaccine and subsequent boosters continue to offer defense against serious illness and are strongly recommended. Information about vaccines and boosters can be found here. Proof of vaccination, booster, and negative test is no longer required by CIM.

However, student taking courses at Case Western Reserve University are required to follow CWRU vaccine requirements to attend classes on their campus. Currently, CWRU requires the COVID-19 vaccine and booster doses for which one is eligible, unless you apply for and receive a medical or religious exemption. Be sure to follow their instructions carefully and plan accordingly. Like CIM, CWRU does not require masks on campus, except in clinical settings.

If you feel unwell, whether or not you believe the symptoms are related to COVID, flu or monkeypox, stay home and take care of yourself. If you test positive for COVID, notify the appropriate person below. If you have an exposure, there is no requirement to notify CIM but please follow CDC guidelines. Those guidelines can be found here. Students living in 1609 Hazel who test positive for COVID should notify the Resident Director immediately so appropriate arrangements can be made.

In-person instruction is expected unless alternate arrangements have been made with the Office of Academic and Student Affairs. In case of illness, remote access to classroom instruction may not be possible, and online lessons may be arranged on an individual basis at the consent of the instructor.
