When you study tuba at CIM, you’re considered a young professional. That means we’ll support and challenge you to reach your full artistic potential as a teacher and performer.

As a tuba student you’ll be part of a department that’s designed to maintain a carefully balanced enrollment, which provides multiple opportunities to perform solo, chamber, orchestral, operatic and new music repertoire. Orchestral participation is virtually continuous.

To complement your weekly private tuba lessons, you’ll also undergo extensive preparation in the brass orchestral repertoire class conducted by our colleague, Michael Sachs, principal trumpet of The Cleveland Orchestra.
