CIM guarantees on-campus housing for first- and second-year undergraduate students. Upperclassmen and graduates can rent apartments and houses within University Circle or other neighborhoods such as Shaker Heights, Coventry, and more.
It’s a quick commute from CIM's residence hall to the main conservatory building. Cutter House offers community and study lounge areas for play and work. Most rooms are doubles and come with a basic set of furniture. Rooms are also wired for cable TV and Internet connections. Resident assistants (RAs) live on each floor and are available to assist with students’ needs. Learn more about living on campus.
Most upperclassmen and graduate students live off campus in apartments or rental houses located in University Circle or nearby neighborhoods. Students living off campus will have access to a public transportation pass. Learn more about living off campus and finding apartments nearby.
Dining on Campus
Cutter House has a full kitchen, including cleaning supplies, as well as snack and beverage vending machines on the first floor. There's also a kitchenette on each floor with a microwave, sink, and hot water tap. All Cutter House residents are expected to participate in one of the offered University meal plans. You'll dine in Leutner Commons nearby, or at Fribley Commons on the south side of the CWRU campus. Your CIM ID card grants you access to the dining halls (guests can pay with cash). You can also buy snacks and supplies from the campus convenience store with cash or CaseCash. If you have special dietary needs, Bon Appétit Catering at CWRU will help you make arrangements.
