Preparing every CIM student to envision and compete for a top-echelon music career
As part of its Blueprint:2030 strategic plan, CIM has reimagined a 21st-century conservatory education. While artistic rigor and excellence remain at the heart of the curriculum, tomorrow’s musicians must also be prepared to think critically, communicate effectively, collaborate across disciplines, embrace new technologies, and build sustainable, entrepreneurial careers. To meet these evolving demands, CIM embraced recommendations from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and, since 2021, has been transforming its approach to delivering performance studies, musicianship studies, and general education, creating an integrated academic and artistic experience that is intentionally designed around the needs of today's music students and tomorrow's music professionals.
